Wirral Symphony Orchestra presents:
“German Requiem”
at Chester Cathedral
7:30pm on Saturday 5th May 2018
The orchestra again welcome our visiting French choir EVR to perform
with soloists:
Barbara Ruzsics – Soprano
Arnaud Richard – Baritone
When Brahms turned to writing his Requiem, he relied not on the traditional language, Latin, nor on the traditional litany. Instead he gave us a work in his own language, German, and with words from the Bible that dwell more upon what links us to God, and to each other, rather than what separates us.
We welcome back the united voices of Ensemble Vocal Renaissance, from Le Havre, and our own singers in Wirral Symphony Chorus, to perform this glorious work in the magnificent surroundings of Chester Cathedral. The concert opens with two of the greatest pieces of British music, the Tallis Fantasia and Enigma Variations
Advance Tickets: £12 standard reserved, £10 concessions reserved, £9 unreserved and £6 student/U16
